Dashboard: Your Performance Overview

The Dashboard tab is your homepage. It gives you a quick overview of your campaigns' current performance through various widgets and tables.

Visual Analysis (Top Section)

Here you can see how your campaigns are developing at a glance:

  • Yesterday's performance: In the top left, you get a quick summary of the previous day. You can immediately see whether clicks were generated, how high your costs were, your eCPM, and how many impressions were served.
  • 7-day trend: The charts show the progression of your costs, impressions, and eCPM over the last seven days.

Pro tip: When you hover your mouse over the chart, you'll see the exact values for that day (for example, the precise costs on a specific date).

Detailed Analysis (Bottom Section)

Below the charts, you'll find the "Current Month Analytics" table with the hard numbers.

  • Time period quick select: Use the buttons ("Today", "Yesterday", "Current Month", "Last Month") to filter the table instantly.
  • Drill-down function: The table is structured hierarchically. Click the small arrows (>) next to the name to expand the view:
    1. Advertiser
    2. Campaign (for example, a specific Content Hub campaign)
    3. Banner (the individual ad creative)

Understanding Campaign Abbreviations

To help you quickly identify where your ads are running, we use the following abbreviations for placements in the table:

  • CH (Content Hub): Banners in editorial ContentHub articles.
  • CP (Comparison Pages): Placements on comparison pages where multiple software providers are compared.
  • PDP (Product Detail Page): Placement as a "Top Alternative" on the profiles of other software providers.
  • ATP (Alternative-to-Page): Placement as a "Top Alternative" on pages listing suitable alternatives to other software providers.
  • RB (Recommendation Box): Featured box in ContentHub articles with recommended software in your category.
  • (TL) Textlink: Text links where your software is mentioned in the text of a ContentHub article. We link both to your OMR Reviews profile and your landing page. Clicks on your profile are free for you; only clicks on your landing page are charged.

The Dashboard shows you the type of placement, not the individual article URL. Your ads are served dynamically based on category and article, so there's no fixed list of individual pages. If you'd like to see specific example pages, we're happy to provide them.

Analytics: Custom Reports & Export

In the Analytics tab, you can conduct in-depth analyses and compile custom reports.

Configure Your Report

Create your report using the following filters:

  • Period: Choose presets like "Last 7 days" or set an exact start and end date using "Custom Range".
  • Group by: Sort your report by parameters like "Banner" or "Day". This way, you can break down a full month's performance by day, for example.

Create & Export

  1. Click Run Report to generate the table based on your filters.
  2. Use the export icons in the top right to download the data:
    • PDF: Ideal for sending to colleagues or stakeholders.
    • CSV / XLSX: Perfect for further processing in Excel or your own tracking tools.

Use Templates

Need a specific view often (for example, "Last 3 months grouped by campaigns")? Click Save report template and give the template a name. On your next visit, you can reload this filter setting with just one click.

Preferences: Manage Your Settings

This section is for managing your account's basic settings.

  • Personal data: Here you can update your contact information and change your password.
  • Customize view: You have the option to show or hide technical details (such as banner IDs) in the Dashboard.

The Dashboard is your reporting tool. We make any changes to your campaign for you, such as banners, click URLs, UTM parameters, or placements.

Reading Your Costs Correctly

Not Every Click in the Dashboard Is Charged

Only clicks from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are charged. The Dashboard, however, shows you all registered clicks, including international traffic. These don't cost you anything, but they do appear in your total count.

The click count in the Dashboard is therefore regularly higher than the number of clicks we charge you for. For your invoice, what matters is the charged clicks from the DACH region multiplied by your agreed click price (CPC).

eCPM Is Not a Price

eCPM is often confused with the billing price. Your billing model is a fixed click price (CPC): charged clicks x CPC. eCPM, on the other hand, is just a derived metric (costs divided by impressions multiplied by 1,000). It fluctuates with the number of impressions and is not a price we charge.

Budget and Remaining Budget

  • In the Dashboard, you see the accrued costs for each campaign. Remaining budget is not shown separately. It results from your agreed monthly budget minus the costs incurred so far.
  • Once your monthly budget is reached, your campaigns pause automatically and restart at the beginning of the next month. You won't be charged anything beyond your agreed budget.
  • You'll receive your invoice at the beginning of the following month.

Why Your Own Analytics Shows Different Numbers

The Dashboard counts clicks on your ad; your own analytics counts sessions on your landing page. The number in the Dashboard is therefore practically always higher. This can happen because users leave the page before your analytics script loads, they reject cookie consent, an ad blocker is active, redirects lose UTM parameters, or both systems filter automated traffic differently. We're happy to review your UTM setup with you.

The Most Important PPC KPIs

So you can correctly interpret the data in the Dashboard and reports, here's an explanation of the most important metrics:

KPIDesignationMeaning & Calculation
ImpressionsImpressionsThe number of viewable contacts. Shows how often your ad was displayed on a user's screen.
ClicksClicksThe absolute number of users who actively clicked on your ad. Includes international clicks that are not charged.
CTRClick-Through-RateThe ratio of clicks to impressions in percent. It's an indicator of your ad's relevance. (Formula: Clicks / Impressions x 100)
eCPMeffective Cost Per MilleThe "cost per thousand impressions". It shows how much 1,000 impressions of your ad cost on average. (Formula: Costs / Impressions x 1,000)
ChargesCostsThe total costs in euros that accrued during the selected time period for serving your campaigns.
