Deep-dive questions and answers about the review survey
To help you guide your software users optimally when they're submitting feedback, we've compiled the most important answers to their frequently asked questions about the review process on OMR Reviews.
How Does My Rating on OMR Reviews Help You?
Your rating gives us valuable feedback that helps us continuously improve our product and service. At the same time, you're helping other software buyers get a realistic picture of our solution. Plus, your rating strengthens our social proof, increases visibility with the relevant target audience, and makes our solution easier to find for companies actively searching for the right software.
Why Do I Need to Register to Submit a Rating? How Is My Email Address Used?
To ensure that OMR Reviews only publishes ratings from actual users, you'll need to register with myOMR before submitting a rating. It's quick and straightforward - ideally using your business email address, or alternatively through your Google account or LinkedIn profile.
OMR Reviews will only contact you regarding your rating submission. For incentivized ratings, OMR Reviews can send you a voucher code directly as a thank you after your rating is published. If you start a rating but don't complete it, or if it gets rejected, you'll receive a maximum of three automatic reminders. After that, no further system notifications will be sent. Your email address won't be used for marketing purposes and won't be added to any newsletter mailing list.
How and When Do I Get the Voucher, and How Can I Redeem It?
OMR Reviews personally reviews every submitted rating within 72 hours. This ensures that only authentic, high-quality ratings are published.
Once your rating is approved and published, you'll automatically receive a voucher code at the email address you provided. The software provider determines what type of voucher is available on OMR Reviews (Amazon or Wunschgutschein). Depending on the voucher type, you have the following redemption options:
-
You can redeem your Amazon voucher directly in the German shop at amazon.de.
-
You can redeem your Wunschgutschein at over 500 partner shops in Germany. You'll find an overview of all participating shops at wunschgutschein.de. If you'd rather donate your voucher to a good cause, this is only possible through the Wunschgutschein charity page.
How Long Does It Take to Write a Rating?
Depending on how familiar you are with the tool and how detailed you want to be about your experiences, completing the survey usually takes between 5 and 10 minutes.
Feel free to take a few extra minutes to write as meaningful and valuable a rating as possible. By sharing your user experience, you're helping other software seekers make informed decisions. At the same time, you'll ensure that your rating meets the minimum requirements and can be published.
My Rating Was Rejected - Why and What Can I Do Now?
In some cases, a rating may be rejected because it doesn't meet the OMR Reviews rating guidelines. Don't worry: if your rating doesn't fully meet the requirements, you can revise it and resubmit it at any time. Simply go back to the rating survey using the link you received from the software provider, adjust your rating, and submit it again. You'll also receive a maximum of three automatic email notifications from OMR Reviews if your rating is rejected, which will take you directly back to the rating survey.
The most common reason for rejection is that ratings contain too few differentiated points or repetitions, making them not substantive enough. A rejection can also occur if the text shows strong signs of AI generation and therefore seems unnatural (recognizable by writing style, structure, or excessive use of emojis, among other things). It's completely fine to get help, but make sure your personal tone comes through.

Deep-Dive Questions and Answers About the Review Survey
How Do I Write a Valuable Rating?
Share your personal experience with the tool: describe specifically what you like most, where you see room for improvement, and what problems you can solve with the software.
Make sure to give helpful and differentiated answers. Ideally, you'll answer all three guiding questions in detail - either in running text or in clearly formulated bullet points. Important: at least one of the questions should contain three differentiated statements. This way, you'll meet the OMR Reviews rating guidelines and ensure your rating can be published.
In the rating survey, you'll also get helpful tips to support you as you formulate your answers.
Tips for Question 1: What Do You Like Best?
What's most helpful? Describe in at least three sentences or formatted bullet points the benefits of using the tool. Make sure you include three differentiated statements and avoid repetition.
Here you can address different aspects of the product and service that stand out to you as particularly positive. Ideally, describe concrete experiences from your daily work and explain what added value the tool brings you. Examples include:
-
Features and fulfilling your requirements
Describe how the tool meets your professional or business requirements and supports you in achieving your goals or solving key challenges. Also go into specific features you use frequently or that provide clear added value. Explain what tasks you can complete with these features, how they support your workflow, and how they help you save time, automate processes, or achieve better results.
-

-
Customer support
Share your experiences with the tool provider's support. For example, during implementation, onboarding, or when you have questions during ongoing use. Particularly relevant here are aspects like response speed, the support team's solution-oriented approach, or support from dedicated contacts like a Customer Success manager or Key Account Manager.
Tips for Question 2: What Don't You Like?

Maybe there are areas in the tool that aren't quite intuitive or that took you longer to figure out. Here you can describe what aspects of navigation, structure, or operation could be improved.

Performance or stability
If you occasionally encounter long loading times, technical problems, or bugs, you can describe these experiences. Explain in what situations they occur and how they affect your work.
-
Setup or integrations
Were there challenges during implementation? Or are you missing specific integrations or interfaces to other tools you use?
-
Support or communication
If you see room for improvement in support or communication with the provider, you can address that too - for example, regarding response times, solutions offered, or the availability of contacts.

Why Do I Need to Provide My Company Name?
In the review survey, providing your company name is a required field. This serves two main purposes:
-
Authenticity and verification: every rating is manually reviewed by our team. The company name helps ensure your rating can be authenticated and published more easily.
-
Value for other users: ratings from real users at actual companies are especially valuable. Software seekers can better understand your user experience and more easily assess whether the software is also suitable for their own company and use cases.
If you're not allowed to display your company name publicly, please still enter it in the survey and add "(please anonymize)". This way, the OMR Reviews validation team can easily check your rating, and they'll manually anonymize the company name before publication.
How Does the 0 - 10 Rating Scale in the Survey Work?
The rating scale in the survey is based on the Net Promoter Score (NPS), a globally recognized standard for measuring customer satisfaction. It answers one key question:
"How likely are you to recommend this tool to someone who's interested in the product?"
The scale ranges from 0 (not at all likely) to 10 (very likely). This lets you express your recommendation and satisfaction on a precise scale.
How Net Promoter Scores Are Categorized
NPS 9 - 10
You're a promoter.
NPS 7 - 8
You're neutral.
NPS 0 - 6
You're a critic.
You rate the tool very positively and would recommend it without hesitation.
You rate the tool neutrally and would recommend it only under certain circumstances.
You rate the tool critically and wouldn't recommend it right now.
Your submitted Net Promoter Score (NPS) is displayed on OMR Reviews with your rating as a 5-star rating for simplicity and better visualization:
-
An NPS of 9 - 10 corresponds to 4.5 - 5 stars.
-
An NPS of 7 - 8 corresponds to 3.5 - 4 stars.
-
An NPS of 0 - 6 corresponds to 0 - 3.5 stars.
What Exactly Does the "Use Cases" Question in the Review Survey Mean, and Which Ones Should I Choose?
In the review survey, you're asked what use cases you apply our tool to. Through a dropdown menu, you can check one or more options via checkbox - depending on what you actually use the software for in your daily work.
The available use cases correspond exactly to the software categories our tool is listed in on OMR Reviews. Your selection determines which of these categories your rating will be counted in.
Specifically, this means: for each use case you select, our tool receives an additional rating in the corresponding category with your feedback. This way, your selection directly influences the OMR Score (number, average, and recency of ratings). This score determines how tools are ranked within a category and is therefore crucial for our tool's visibility in those categories.
